Analog Test 2 from Eli Allen on Vimeo.
The test with the projector showed several short-comings. The foremost being that the combination of a fairly low resolution projector, with a highly enlarged web cam capture leads to image degradation . While the projected images are still recognizable as human forms, the quality level does take away from the perception of the piece (in addition, two projectors plus the web cam setup would take up all of the width of Portico Room 121 and most of the depth as well, not leaving much space for spectation). To that end, the test in this post shows the image quality on a 37" LCD display (as well as an update of the Max/Jitter code). The images seem to be much better. Two matching LCDs can be positioned quite close to the viewer, to compensate for the smaller image. The number of composite people is limited to 5 by the proportions of the screen (this video shows that 5 people fill the screen's height and width in appropriate proportion - this would be true of the projector in Room 121 as well).
