successful transcription of waveform

After a few trial and error attempts, I was able to transcribe a mp3 waveform into a midi file. This means that I can take any source of sound and impose the waveform, analyze and filter it to isolate certain elements, and insert ot into my mixing software to translate it into loops, rhythm, and start creating musical samples.

Though the waveform transcription does not always accurately predict the feel of the sound, my thought is that I can adjust certain parameters in the conversion software, such as low tones(base), high tones(vocals) allowing me to manipulate the midi info in the editing software.
