Analog Concept II

For my analog device I will be emulating a twitter type interaction and response using touch-sensitive LED lit panels.  A single unit will be constructed from an array of LEDs which are enclosed in the front by fogged plexiglas. The corners of the plexiglas will be outfitted with pressure sensors and I should be able to estimate by triangulation the location and magnitude of a touch activation. There will be a total of four of these panels and when one is pressed, then the others light up in the same place that the first was pressed simulating the broadcast event of the tweet.  Subsequent presses on other panels will light up the boards in like fashion while turning down the lights on the activated panel. The resulting interactions between the panels will be a sort of visual record or database of the communications between the user, the activated panel, and the "friend" array of similar panels.

Wiring revisited

a new 'wiring' diagram for twitter. This one gives priority to a single user. The diagram can be repeated for each of the user's followers and their interactions ad infinitum.

Now that I've been granted extended privileges by twitter I'm able to gather more data faster and produce a larger diagram of my twitter network. The diagram has shown me connections that I never knew existed. I'm also surprised by the number of orphans in my network, and more so by the random connectors.

the area of the colored circle corresponds to the number of people that user is following. The dark ring corresponds to how many people are following that user. So a ring to the outside of the colored circle means they follow more people than are following them. and vice versa.

each grey line acts as a spring that tightens the users together or spreads them apart. and each user has a mass, attraction/repellant attributes to help sort them in 2d space.

Diagram showing social connections between friends on twitter. I'm hoping to make this a dynamic and interactive(?) diagram/toy. Still learning the API library in order to get it to work.



A diagram similar to the first, but showing perhaps a little more technically the path of the data from beginning to end with possible friend responses depending on relationship on twitter.
